Recent paintings investigate my studio and home as an archive of my life and a container of my interior world. I began scavenging the studio for new sources of imagery, and in the process revived resources I've used for years, including decorative materials like patterns, architectural ornaments, even the designs on my pillowcase and bed sheets.
Images are freely embedded into the paintings. Each piece becomes a fragmented facet of personal life compacted onto the painted surface. Yet the greater the amount of information, personal or other, the harder it seems to achieve communication or meaning. All images only seem to lead back to the surface.
