Hosfelt Gallery opened in San Francisco in 1996. In May 2006 we opened our 7,500 sq. ft.
New York gallery on West 36th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues. We represent an
international group of emerging to mid-career contemporary artists.

The position of Gallery Director includes a great deal of autonomy and growth potential. The
ideal candidate brings a substantial client base, has proven ability in contemporary art sales
and a minimum of 5 years prior gallery experience in New York, is self-motivated, and has
strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of contemporary and modern art

Primary responsibilities include:

Sales & Publicity:
-Generate sales with new and existing clients
-Strategize marketing plans and sales goals
-Build new and existing relationships with clients, critics, and curators
-Write press releases and generate publicity and reviews for exhibitions
-Artist career development

Exhibitions
-Curate group and solo exhibitions
-Oversee exhibition preparation and design
-Supervise preparator/registrar on installation and deinstallation schedule
-Organize/host client events

Develop & Maintain Relationships with Artists
-Conduct regular studio visits for existing and potential artists

Art Fairs
-Work at art fairs

Gallery Management
-Oversee all gallery operations
-Supervise staff
-Lead weekly bi-coastal conference calls
